Beat Pambelé, a musical - visual collective formed during the 2020 trough sonic trips between Barcelona and Bogotá.
Musically we explore the sounds of trip hop, hip hop with dub and downtempo environments and Caribbean music influences.
The visual part of the project is developed by La Murga Visual, starting from the logo and evolving to even creating a video with the idea of showing our graphic universe, the one that emerges from the journey we took that ended up in the creation of this collective.
Beat Pambelé is a sonic journey between Barcelona and Bogotá. Musically they explore the sounds of trip hop and hip hop with dub and downtempo environments and Caribbean music influences; a balance between the well-kept rhymes of Zé Fuga (MC) and the powerful instrumental productions of Dito-sin (Producer-Beatmaker), Luigi Mendez (percussion) and Nixer (Dj).
Péguelo is the first single from Beat Pambelé, a song that oscillates between dub and drum and bass peppered with cumbia samples. The lyrics are a reconstruction of the city of Bogotá at the end of the 90s through three young people who go out to smoke a joint (with all the implications that something like this had at that time and in that place). A narration of the reality of the country in those days that allows us to see how little some aspects mentioned in the song have changed.
