Live World Premiere (Concert + Projection) - January 25th 2020 - Amsterdam
Produced by Bleu Danube, this live projection brings a unique experience of film as it was popular in the early days of cinema where projections were accompanied by live bands that played along with the film.
The Catalian Quartet Gerhard´s interpretation of Alban Berg´s Suite Lyrique comes to live as the played the soundtrack of the movie in realtime in the Eye Museum Festival in Amsterdam, mixing movie projection, sound design and a majestic preformance by the Quartet in a stage that was slowly changing and mixing with the movie atmosphere.
Music, Poetry, Dance, Architecture … All these disciplines were combined in order to create Suite Lyrique – our reinterpretation of Alban Berg’s masterpiece. Each element of the story, locations and aesthetic codes fit a purpose: to cherish Berg’s guidelines and their contemporaneity in order to craft a respectful present-day visual version of the music.
